Holliston Dems Endorse James Arena-DeRosa

Members of the Holliston Democratic Town Committee have voted to enthusiastically endorse James Arena-DeRosa for State Representative for the 8th Middlesex District in the September 6 Primary Election—the seat vacated by former State Rep. Carolyn Dykema. James is a current member of the DTC and served as Chair in the past.

James learned early on the value of community engagement and social and economic justice. He has spent most of his adult career working in public service:

  • organizing with farmworkers
  • advocating for families and communities with Oxfam America
  • directing the Peace Corps for New England
  • running a $12 billion agency as the USDA Northeast Administrator for Food and Nutrition in the Obama Administration

James is committed to listening, learning, and advocating for the residents of the 8th Middlesex and supporting Democratic ideals, campaigns and grassroots organizations in Massachusetts and across the nation.

According to DTC member Lee DeSorgher, “James has spent his whole career trying to make people's lives better. He's a very intelligent and moral person and it will be a pleasure voting for him for State Representative.”

"I'm with James because I know he will fight for Holliston and help the town secure state funding for critical projects that will improve our infrastructure, transition us to a green economy, and support local education," says Dan Alfred, DTC member and Vice Chair, Holliston Finance Committee.

In addition, DTC member Maria Constantinides will be holding a house party for James on Wednesday August 17th, at 7PM. Contact Maria to RSVP.
